Sun City and Kruger Park Golf Tour

Spend 6 days teeing off on the world-famous golf courses at Sun City and the Hans Merensky Estate, bordering the Kruger National Park.  There is an optional add-on to enjoy an exciting African safari at Ngala Private Game Reserve.

ITINERARY

Day 1 - 3 : SUN CITY

You will be welcomed to South Africa at Johannesburg International Airport and transferred by road to the Sun City Resort, 180 km northwest of Johannesburg.  Located in the middle of dry bushveld scrub Sun City is a man-made fantasy paradise. It is an oasis of lush green vegetation, water-features, casinos, golf courses and world-class hotels. The adjacent Pilanesberg National Park is home to the Big Five and malaria-free.

The Gary Player Country Club is the premier course and feature of the resort.   Its immaculate condition and reputation remains the draw-card.  Designed by Gary Player 20 years ago, it is now a mature course set in the African bushveld.   Its fairways and greens contrast sharply against the immediate environment and the many trees and dramatic bunkers allow for a variety of interesting pin positions.

The Lost City Country Club is a conversation-piece and an experience not to be missed.   Like an oasis in the arid bushveld, the course offers many surprises.   The short hole (13th) is played over a crocodile-infested waterhole shaped like the continent of Africa.  Baobab trees, cacti and baboons are among the aesthetic attractions.

Day 4 & 5 : HANS MERENSKY ESTATE

Transfer by road to Johannesburg International Airport for your scheduled flight to Hoedspruit (cost not included).  Road transfer from Hoedspruit Airport to Hans Merensky Estate, set in the splendour of the Limpopo Province bushveld.

Hans Merensky Golf Club is bordered by The Kruger National Park, and many of the park’s inhabitants pay little regard to fencing.   During the drier winter months in particular, several species of antelope, giraffe, warthog and even elephant and big cats can be spotted on the course.  The course is built around magnificent bushveld trees and is host to many high-profile professional and amateur tournaments. 

Two overnights at Hans Merensky Golf Course on a bed & breakfast basis.

Day 6

Transfer back to Hoedspruit for your onward flight.

OPTIONAL NGALA SAFARI ADD-ON:

Day 7 & 8 : NGALA PRIVATE GAME RESERVE
Ngala was the first private reserve to be located within the borders of the Kruger National Park and offers outstanding game-viewing opportunities.

Two overnights on a full board basis including morning, afternoon and night game-drives and interpretive nature walks.

Day 9 :
Charter flight back to Johannesburg International Airport.
